It’s that time of the week again where you wonder where the weekend has gone. Still I  hope you are enjoying a peaceful and joyful Sunday whatever the weather. For me it’s been a great weekend for gardening with both sunshine and rain. At the end of the day, it’s great to take in the scent of jasmine, the rain drenched lawn and the fantastic colours of a fast approaching Summer. The title of the first song here is therefore quite  appropriate. But don’t stop there. Listen up for those special guitar solos and be amazed at the magic of those chords as I was. Happy listening and have an awesome week ahead!

Hello Friends

I hope you are having a fantastic day wherever you are. As for me, the Winter chill is starting to set in and as always, I think listening to some good music helps to keep the blues away. Today, I’ve selected some of my favorite artists whose names begin with the letter “P”  Since I had quite a few Ps on my list, I’ve had to make a few sacrifices which gives you space to play along with me and add your favorite R&B or Smooth Jazz to the list. When the sun comes down for you, here’s wishing you a relaxing evening and a fine week ahead! You are welcome to get up and dance to the groove at the end by Paul Taylor. Enjoy it Y’all!! 💫💫✨✨❤️❤️❤️❤️ ✨✨💫💫

When I first saw you,

I could not have imagined

that smile in your eyes,

was all the foreplay needed

to satisfy me.

Your eyes spoke volumes

of the words you did not say,

which I always knew

because nothing else mattered

when you were with me.

Dreamy memories

of lovers’ music still plays

in my head, nights and days spent-

caught in your rapture,

you wanting sole rights to me.

Though we are apart,

we’ll always be, anchored

in soulful lyrics

of the music we played,

that told our love story.

Filled with the magic

of secret pleasures shared-

when we cried together

or shared laughter.

You still haunt my dreams.

It is no surprise

when you call – urged by need

to connect with me,

after I’d thought about you-

soul’s telepathy…

Meet me on the moon

Soon as you can…

Though she is long gone, I find a certain timelessness in the music and smoky sultry voice of the late Phyllis Hyman. Though many of her songs reflect her tenuous relationship with love, they also reflect some of the dilemmas many face in matters of the heart. Phylis and the tragedy of her life occupy a special place in my heart.
