Are you doing the nightshift over Christmas?

I’m one of those who generally prefers to skip the advertisements on television. But I’ve taken a fancy to this one from one of our cellphone companies which pitches at connecting everyone on the nightshift when folks would rather  be home with their families. It kinda gives me a warm feeling to see the clock flashing through  our cities and airports and our rainbow nation. All the best to those on the Nightshift!

If you’d like a touch of nostalgia, here is the original song.”Nightshift” was a 1985 hit song by the Commodores and the title track from the eleventh album of the same name. The song, written by then lead singer Walter Orange in collaboration with Dennis Lambert and Franne Golde, was a tribute to soul/R&B singers Jackie Wilson and Marvin Gaye, who both died in 1984.
