50 word story #8 Full Moon tonight

full moon

Driving to her apartment to celebrate!

After twenty years of marriage,

Puzzling how it had crumbled so insidiously.

That naive young bride, now a law professor!

Itinerant strangers, feeling the gaping chasm

Behind in-different rooms and nods,

Occasional mechanical love.

He was leaving it behind!

 The full moon ascended ahead.

  1. You hit on something with this one… the occasional mechanical love that follows, twenty years after that first sweet kiss. Where did those days go? Insidious indeed. Is moving on the best option? The only one? 🙂

    1. It’s real Joan. How it ends depends on the circumstances and what people want out of life. Love doesn’t always equate to passion. There’s much more to relationships but I guess sometimes it is too late – But to answer your question, moving on does not have to be the only option.

    1. I guess I’m learning that since these stories are so short, you have to choose words carefully. While, I’d like them to stand alone, they are part of 10 episodes. Thank you for reading and commenting Maniparna 😀
