Freedom’s song

slow dance

She first played me a Salsa

Working me up in steamy sweat

“Let go and let live”, you said when we first met

Then she turned into a Rumba

Hips moving to your bedazzled stare

To my African rhythms and your Spanish flair

On the beach we danced to her Sega

With wild abandon and frenetic moves

Skillfully pulling me back into magnetic grooves

Now time to slow dance to the Waltz

Lest freedom’s song take me away

Guide me closely in my next step, dare I go astray

For freedom’s song is not so free

If there is no one to dance closely with me.
