If we should never meet again

Bird of Freedom1

If we should never meet again

Let it not be said; I did not love you.

When grey clouds converge

Raindrops start to merge

I’ll be the drizzle and the deluge.

If we should never meet again

Let it not be said; I did not kiss you.

When you feel the sun’s glow on your skin

Or feel the taste of ripened sweet fruit,

I’ll be the succulence to satisfy your hunger.

If we should never meet again

Don’t let it be said that I did not know you.

When breezes blow soft scents of wisteria

And you feel the lick of flames engulf you,

I’ll be the pulse, sending shudders through you.

When you fall asleep I’ll slip into your dreams,

Whisper your name and say how much I love you!

Our soul music will rise to a perfect crescendo,

Bodies harmonized in our concealed mysteries,

Our spirits spreading their wings, ready to soar.

If by chance, we should never meet again,

Let thoughts of me linger with you eternally.
